Wind SRG-Based Bipolar DC Microgrid with Grid-Connected and Plug-In Energy Supporting Functions

Although a switched reluctance generator (SRG) is not the mainstream wind generator, it possesses application potential and worth developing for its many structural merits high developed power ability. This paper presents SRG-based bipolar DC microgrid having grid-connected plug-in energy supporting functions. First, surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM)-driven turbine emulator (WTE) established. Next, SRG with an asymmetric bridge converter developed. Good generating characteristics are obtained through proper designs of circuit, commutation mechanism, external excitation source, voltage current controllers. Third, DC/DC boost interface balancer constructed to establish 500 V DC-bus. To preserve supplying quality, battery storage system (BESS) bidirectional equipped. A dump load leg added across bus limit DC-bus under surplus condition. In side, three-phase inverter developed, which can be operated as single-phase three-wire (1P3W) or (3P3W) inverter. sinusoidal waveform regulation using proportional-resonant (PR) control. The grid operations conductible. Finally, further improve powering reliability microgrid, T-type Vienna switch-mode rectifier (SMR) based scheme When shortage occurs, possible harvested used supply microgrid.
